1.
Choose a contractor. We have only one thing to say when it comes
to choosing the right contractor, besides the obvious (references,
license, insurance etc.) The the bitterness that results from
cheap workmanship lasts a lot longer than the sweetness of a cheap
price.

2.
Decide whether you'll be living in while the renovation is in
process or moving out. Storage of furniture and valuables.
|
3.
Obtain Alteration Agreement from Building Management, review it
and forward the Insurance Information to the project manager
designated to you. This may be a lengthy process so we recommend
starting it ASAP. Diesel Contracting of NY will assist you in
providing the Work Scope and layouts/drawings when an Architect or
Engineer is not involved.

4.
Delivery of all paperwork request by the Managing Agent (scope of
work, certificate of insurance, drawings etc) at the same time the
contract for the renovation is signed and a deposit for the
renovation (previously agreed upon) will be given to Diesel
Contracting of NY.
|
5.
While the approval process in under way, the project manager (or
Designer assigned by Diesel) will assist with picking out and
ordering all materials (Cabinets, tiles, lighting, countertops
etc.) Diesel Contracting of NY will pass on to the customer any
discounts offered by our suppliers.
|
6. The
construction phase. At this time the customer will need to be
reachable by the project manager at all times, as there will be
decisions that will need to be made on the spot, that is unless a
designer is assigned to the project.
